Who We Are?

This is to introduce ourselves ZEHRA CHARITABLE TRUST (Registration no. E. 30827(M) is a non-profit registered Charitable Trust under government of India established on 1st of Mahe Moharram 1436 Hijri as a compassionate response to witnessing poverty first hand in India and around the globe. It was established as a unique organization that not only assists with aid but also raises awareness of development, humanitarian and spiritual issues.

ZEHRA CHARITABLE TRUST believe in working on the principle of transparency, our accounts and legal procedures team is in constant touch with our Chartered Accountant (“CA”) and ensures that the exchange of funds or any new projects and regular operations are in line with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Charity Commission. We have a dedicated Chartered Accountant (‘CA’) who provides consultancy services to us for all our accounts related activities and a group of legal experts who guides us upon important and necessary cases or decisions.

Our Mission

A world where everyone has access to the basic necessities in life and living self-sufficiently with spiritual development. Inspired by the Holy Household, ZEHRA CHARITABLE TRUST wish to assist people in the practices taught by them with the principles of our faith.

ZEHRA CHARITABLE TRUST mission is to aid those suffering from poverty and to provide them with basic philanthropic needs to enable them to survive and develop in the future. The Trust also works on promoting education and spiritual development of the community.

How We Utilise Funds?

To effectively channelize funds, ZEHRA CHARITABLE TRUST is meticulously striving to collect every rupee donated from the community which includes (and not limited to) the following

  • Khums (Sheme Imam)
  • Fitra
  • Fidya
  • Kaffara
  • Zakat
  • Qurbani

Khums (Sehme Imam) is very important fund collected to uplift the downtrodden families and has a good share of contributions from the donors.

Sehme Imam funds are used for the implementation of entire projects such as paying higher education fees, payment for tuition fees for specialized/ vocational courses, medical/ration assistance to deserving families etc.

Fitra is collected once a year on the day of Eid ul Fitr and is bifurcated between Sadaat and non-Sadaat and is distributed accordingly as per the Zakat ul Fitra Laws.

Fidiya & Kaffarah is normally received during the Holy Month of Ramadan and the funds are utilized for special Ramadan ration distribution.

Zakat is collected and distributed as per the Zakat (alms-tax) laws.

Qurbani donation is collected to organize Ijtemai Qurbani during the Holy Month of Dhil Hajj. The funds collected are used to buy goats for sacrifice and the 500 gms pack of meat is distributed to those needy families that are identified a month in advance who financially couldn’t afford to perform the sacrifice.
